Visit North Yorkshire supports the Yorkshire Dales Rally

Northallerton Auto Club would like to extend its sincere thanks to Visit North Yorkshire, part of North Yorkshire Council, for their support of the Swift Signs and Shirts Yorkshire Dales Rally through assistance with the event’s Motor Race Order.
Taking place on Sunday 29 March 2026, the Yorkshire Dales Rally will bring competitive stage rallying to one of the most distinctive and much loved landscapes in the country. Based in North Yorkshire, the event has been created by a volunteer organising team with a strong commitment to delivering a safe, well run rally that respects both the area and the communities that live and work within it.
A Motor Race Order is a vital legal process that allows sections of public road to be temporarily closed so that a rally can take place safely. It ensures that competitors, marshals, residents and spectators are all protected, while also setting out clear conditions around access, timings and traffic management. Without a Motor Race Order, events such as the Yorkshire Dales Rally simply could not run on public roads.
Support from Visit North Yorkshire has played an important role in helping the rally progress through this process. Their involvement reflects an understanding of the careful balance required between hosting major sporting events and protecting the character of North Yorkshire’s rural communities. It also recognises the positive impact that responsibly organised motorsport can have, bringing visitors to the area outside peak tourist periods and supporting local businesses.
The Yorkshire Dales Rally will showcase North Yorkshire at its best, combining challenging competition with a strong emphasis on safety, organisation and respect for the local environment. Northallerton Auto Club is grateful for the backing of Visit North Yorkshire and North Yorkshire Council, and for their confidence in the volunteer team delivering this new event.
Title sponsor Swift Signs & Shirts has played a major part in helping the rally reach this stage. Building on many years of involvement in regional rallying, the company’s backing has provided confidence and stability as the organising team established the foundations of this new event. Their commitment has been matched by the enthusiasm of local supporters, who recognise the benefits that motorsport can bring to towns and villages outside the main tourist season.
Regulations for the Swift Signs & Shirts Yorkshire Dales Rally will be published on 2 January 2026 and entries open on 9 January 2026.
